The Team

Helen Y. Davis Leadership Academy Charter Public School Boys Basketball team competes in the Massachuestts Charter School Athletic Organization (MCSAO).  DLA has won 6 MCSAO State Championships over the past 9 seasons, and won over 125+ games over the past 7 seasons.

In that time dozens of DLA alumni have gone on to play competitively at the high school varsity level in both the NEPSAC and MIAA, and a number of alumni have gone on to compete at the collegiate level.  Our alumni have received Division 1 scholarship offers from: Arizona State University, University of Auburn, Boston College, University of Connecticut, Creighton University, Fairfield University, Georgetown University, Indiana University, Iowa State University, University of Louisville, Manhattan College, University of Massachusetts, University of Michigan, University of Minnesota, University of Oregon, University of Pittsburgh, Providence College, Purdue University, University of Rhode Island, Rutgers University, Southern Methodist University, St. John's University, Temple University, University of Texas, Texas Tech University, University of Tulsa, Virginia Tech University, Wake Forest University, Xavier University.

Our alumni have competed at the highest levels of grassroots basketball including the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL), Nike Academy, Adidas Gauntlet, and Adidas Nations.

Our alumni have attended some of the most prestigious prep schools in the country including: Brimmer and May School, Lawrence Academy, Middlesex School, Proctor Academy, The Rivers School, South Kent School, St. George's School.

Recent notable alumni include Bruce Brown '11 (University of Miami, #26 ESPN 2016), AJ Reeves '13 (Providence College, #53 ESPN 2018), and Maurice Works '14 (South Kent School, #47 NERR 2018).
